You do not need a complicated routine. Gentle handling and sensible storage make the biggest difference.

Everyday Water Resistance

Italian genuine leather can handle light splashes and brief contact with water, but it is not made for prolonged rain or soaking. If wet, blot gently and air-dry naturally.

Limit Heat & Sun

Do not leave it beside a heater, inside a hot car or in strong sunlight for long periods.

Handle Gently

Avoid repeated scraping against sharp surfaces and do not pull or bend the raised portrait.

Store Thoughtfully

When not in use, keep it in a cool, dry place away from liquids, direct sunlight and heavy objects.

CLEANING GUIDE

Gentle Care Is the Best Care

Start with the least aggressive method. When in doubt, pause and ask us before applying any product.

What to Do

  • Remove loose dust with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
  • For a light surface mark, use a barely damp cloth and blot—do not scrub.
  • Let the keepsake air-dry completely at room temperature.
  • Test any care product on a tiny, less visible area first.

What to Avoid

  • Do not wash, soak or place it in a washing machine.
  • Do not use alcohol, bleach, disinfectant or harsh household cleaners.
  • Do not use a hair dryer, radiator or other direct heat.
  • Do not apply heavy oils or conditioners without testing first.

Each PETMOKI keepsake is made with Italian genuine leather. As a natural material, subtle differences in grain, texture and tone can appear from one piece to another. Screen settings and lighting may also change how a color looks online.

These natural variations are part of the material's character and are not automatically signs of a workmanship issue.

Because every portrait is personalized, change-of-mind returns are not accepted once production has begun. This does not prevent us from reviewing an item that arrives damaged, incorrect or with a verified workmanship issue.

Leather Care FAQs

Is the Italian leather waterproof?
Our Italian genuine leather is water-resistant for everyday splashes, but it is not intended for prolonged rain, soaking, swimming or washing. If it gets wet, blot away surface moisture with a clean soft cloth and let it air-dry at room temperature. Do not rub aggressively or use direct heat.
Can I use leather conditioner?
Care products can affect leather tone and the portrait finish. Test a very small, less visible area first, or email us before applying a product you are unsure about.
Why does the color look slightly different from my screen?
Natural leather varies, and screens display color differently. Small differences in grain, texture and tone are expected and help make each keepsake unique.
Is everyday wear considered a quality issue?
Normal surface wear, small scratches and gradual changes caused by regular use are not generally manufacturing defects. We are happy to review clear photos if you are unsure.
What if my keepsake arrives damaged or incorrect?
Email support@petmoki.com promptly with your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging. Our team will review the information and explain the available resolution.
